De zogenaamde &#8216;CLARITY Act&#8217;, een zoveelste poging om digitale valuta eindelijk te reguleren, dreigt te stranden in een partijpolitiek moeras. De Republikeinen pushen als bezetenen om dit voorstel er nog voor 30 september doorheen te rammen, terwijl&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>De Democraten, onder aanvoering van Maxine Waters, zoals verwacht, de hakken in het zand zetten. Haar beschuldiging dat de Republikeinen &#8220;gevaarlijke&#8221; cryptowetgeving erdoor willen drukken, is voorspelbaar politiek theater. En laten we eerlijk zijn, de &#8216;Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act&#8217; is niet meer dan een rookgordijn om de daadwerkelijke discussie te vermijden.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ripple-zaak: Eindelijk klaar, en nu?<\/h2>\n<p>Na bijna vijf jaar moddergooien is de Ripple-saga dan eindelijk voorbij. Beide partijen hebben hun beroepen ingetrokken. Goed zo. De SEC en Ripple hebben genoeg tijd en geld verspild aan deze juridische strijd. Het is tijd om verder te kijken.<\/p>\n<p>De aanklacht van de SEC in 2020 \u2013 dat Ripple illegaal 1,3 miljard dollar ophaalde met de verkoop van ongeregistreerde XRP-tokens \u2013 was een klap in het gezicht van de crypto-industrie. Maar nu het stof is neergedaald, moeten we ons afvragen: wat hebben we geleerd?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEC: Doorpakken, maar hoe?<\/h2>\n<p>SEC-commissaris Hester Peirce zegt dat het einde van de Ripple-zaak ruimte biedt voor duidelijke regels. SEC-voorzitter Paul Atkins beweert dat de focus nu ligt op innovatie, met bescherming van beleggers.
