Tijdens de Proof of Talk-conferentie in Parijs voorspelde de oprichter van Fundstrat dat de Ethereum koers uiteindelijk kan stijgen naar 250.000 dollar. Daarmee zou de op een na grootste cryptomunt ter wereld ruim honderd keer meer waard worden dan vandaag.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens Lee kijkt de markt momenteel naar de verkeerde signalen. Achter de schermen zou een fundamentele verschuiving plaatsvinden waarbij kunstmatige intelligentie, tokenisatie en grote bedrijven Ethereum steeds belangrijker maken binnen het financi\u00eble systeem.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-de-betaalinfrastructuur-van-het-internet\">De betaalinfrastructuur van het internet<\/h2>\n<p>De kern van Lee\u2019s optimistische visie draait om de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie. Naarmate AI-systemen steeds meer taken zelfstandig uitvoeren, zullen machines volgens hem voortdurend betalingen moeten verrichten en gegevens moeten uitwisselen.<\/p>\n<p>Traditionele betalingsnetwerken zijn daar volgens Lee niet voor ontworpen. Blockchainnetwerken zoals <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/over-cryptocurrency\/wat-is-ethereum\/\">Ethereum<\/a> bieden volgens hem een veel effici\u00ebntere oplossing voor identiteitscontrole, authenticatie en directe betalingen tussen geautomatiseerde systemen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRobots zullen uiteindelijk het grootste deel van het internetverkeer domineren\u201d, zei Lee tijdens zijn presentatie. \u201cBlockchain werkt veel beter dan traditionele financi\u00eble infrastructuur voor authenticatie, identiteit en betalingsverkeer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daardoor zou Ethereum kunnen uitgroeien van een speculatieve belegging tot de belangrijkste infrastructuur voor een nieuwe machine economie waarin AI-systemen zelfstandig transacties uitvoeren.<\/p>\n<p>Lee noemt tokenisatie en AI de twee belangrijkste ontwikkelingen die een volgende groeifase voor Ethereum kunnen ontketenen. Als die visie uitkomt, ziet hij ruimte voor een koers van 250.000 dollar per ETH.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-grote-bedrijven-nemen-steeds-meer-controle-over-ethereum\">Grote bedrijven nemen steeds meer controle over Ethereum<\/h2>\n<p>Volgens Lee verandert niet alleen het gebruik van Ethereum, maar ook de manier waarop het netwerk wordt beheerd.<\/p>\n<p>Waar de Ethereum Foundation jarenlang een centrale rol speelde, neemt de invloed van grote bedrijven snel toe. De stichting bezit volgens Lee nog slechts ongeveer 100.000 ETH, goed voor ongeveer 0,1 procent van de totale voorraad.<\/p>\n<p>Tegelijkertijd bouwen beursgenoteerde bedrijven juist agressief posities op. Een van de opvallendste voorbeelden is Bitmine Immersion Technologies, waarvan Lee zelf voorzitter is.<\/p>\n<p>Het bedrijf kocht vorige week ruim 111.000 ETH ter waarde van ongeveer 237 miljoen dollar. Daardoor bezit Bitmine inmiddels bijna 5,4 miljoen ETH, goed voor ongeveer 4,5 procent van alle circulerende Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>Samen met andere grote spelers zouden beursgenoteerde ondernemingen inmiddels ongeveer zeven procent van alle ETH controleren. Via staking ontvangen deze partijen naar schatting honderden miljoenen dollars per jaar aan beloningen.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens Lee ontstaat hierdoor een nieuw model waarbij bedrijven een steeds grotere rol spelen in het financieren en beveiligen van het netwerk.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ethereum-aandelen-kunnen-harder-stijgen-dan-eth-zelf\">Ethereum-aandelen kunnen harder stijgen dan ETH zelf<\/h2>\n<p>Lee ziet zelfs meer potentieel in bedrijven die grote hoeveelheden Ethereum bezitten dan in de cryptomunt zelf.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens zijn presentatie wees hij op Bitmine, dat volgens hem binnenkort mogelijk wordt opgenomen in de Russell 1000-index. Die index wordt gevolgd door fondsen die gezamenlijk meer dan 4 biljoen dollar beheren.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens Lee kan zo\u2019n opname voor extra vraag naar het aandeel zorgen. Hij stelde daarnaast dat bedrijven die Ethereum inzetten voor staking op termijn beter kunnen presteren dan een directe investering in ETH.<\/p>\n<p>Voor Lee verandert dat niets aan zijn bredere visie op de markt.
