De grote internationale cryptobeurs, voorheen bekend als Huobi, wordt ervan verdacht voor meer dan 1,5 miljard dollar aan geldstromen richting Rusland te hebben verwerkt.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-htx-onder-vuur-door-russische-cryptoroutes\">HTX onder vuur door Russische cryptoroutes<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/uk-targets-russian-crypto-networks-latest-sanctions-2026-05-26\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Volgens<\/a> de Britse overheid speelde HTX een rol binnen het zogenoemde A7-netwerk. Dat netwerk zou via crypto enorme bedragen de Russische economie in hebben gesluisd. Volgens Chainalysis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chainalysis.com\/blog\/uk-sanctions-crypto-entities-russian-trade-blockade-evasion-may-2026\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">claimde<\/a> het netwerk vorig jaar zelfs 90 miljard dollar te hebben verplaatst.<\/p>\n<p>Dat bedrag is groter dan de helft van het jaarlijkse Russische militaire budget. Daarmee raakt de sanctie niet alleen de cryptosector, maar ook de financi\u00eble infrastructuur achter de oorlog in Oekra\u00efne.<\/p>\n<p>De verdenking tegen HTX draait om geldstromen naar eerder gesanctioneerde partijen, waaronder Grinex en Garantex. Die Russische cryptobeurzen stonden al langer onder druk vanwege hun vermeende rol in illegale financi\u00eble netwerken.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-stablecoin-a7a5-speelt-centrale-rol\">Stablecoin A7A5 speelt centrale rol<\/h2>\n<p>Een belangrijk onderdeel van het netwerk is A7A5, een stablecoin die gekoppeld is aan de Russische roebel. De munt wordt uitgegeven in Kirgizi\u00eb en draait op Ethereum (ETH) en Tron (TRX).<\/p>\n<p>Volgens Chainalysis <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/russische-stablecoin-a7a5-verwerkte-meer-dan-100-miljard-dollar-aan-transacties-zegt-elliptic\/\">verwerkte<\/a> A7A5 in het eerste jaar al meer dan 93 miljard dollar aan handelsvolume. Een groot deel daarvan liep via beurzen met sterke banden met Rusland.<\/p>\n<p>Vooral Grinex speelde daarin een grote rol. Die beurs was volgens Chainalysis de opvolger van Garantex, dat in maart 2025 door opsporingsdiensten werd stilgelegd. Niet veel later zou Grinex zelf zijn getroffen door een grote hack en daarna zijn gesloten.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-wat-betekenen-de-sancties\">Wat betekenen de sancties?<\/h2>\n<p>Door de sancties mogen Britse burgers en bedrijven geen zaken meer doen met de genoemde partijen. Ook moeten tegoeden die onder Britse jurisdictie vallen worden bevroren.<\/p>\n<p>Daarnaast mogen Britse financi\u00eble instellingen geen betalingen meer verwerken van of naar de gesanctioneerde bedrijven. Daarmee probeert Londen niet alleen individuele partijen te raken, maar vooral de financi\u00eble routes waarmee Rusland crypto kan gebruiken om sancties te ontwijken.<\/p>\n<p>De stap volgt kort na strengere Europese maatregelen tegen de Russische en Belarussische cryptosector.
