De zogeheten core PCE, een belangrijke graadmeter voor de Amerikaanse centrale bank, kwam precies uit zoals verwacht. Toch blijft de spanning voelbaar, mede door geopolitieke onzekerheid en een afkoelende economie.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-core-pce-inflatie-blijft-stabiel-op-verwacht-niveau\">Core PCE inflatie blijft stabiel op verwacht niveau<\/h2>\n<p>De core Personal Consumption Expenditures (<a href=\"https:\/\/fred.stlouisfed.org\/series\/PCE\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">PCE<\/a>) prijsindex, die voedsel- en energieprijzen buiten beschouwing laat, steeg in maart met 0,3 procent op maandbasis. Op jaarbasis komt de inflatie uit op 3,2 procent.<\/p>\n<p>Dat is exact in lijn met de verwachtingen van economen. Voor de <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/cryptocurrency-termen\/wat-is\/fed\/\">Federal Reserve<\/a> is dit een belangrijk signaal. De centrale bank gebruikt deze maatstaf als leidraad bij het bepalen van het rentebeleid.<\/p>\n<p>Wanneer ook energie en voedsel worden meegerekend, ligt de inflatie hoger. Dan komt de stijging uit op 0,7 procent op maandbasis en 3,5 procent op jaarbasis. Vooral de stijgende olieprijzen spelen hierin een grote rol, mede door de oorlog met Iran.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-economische-groei-trekt-aan-maar-zorgen-blijven\">Economische groei trekt aan, maar zorgen blijven<\/h2>\n<p>Naast de inflatiecijfers werd ook bekend dat de Amerikaanse economie in het eerste kwartaal met 2,0 procent is gegroeid. Dat is een duidelijke verbetering ten opzichte van de 0,5 procent groei in het vorige kwartaal.<\/p>\n<p>Toch ligt de groei iets onder de verwachtingen. Economen rekenden op een stijging van rond de 2,2 procent. De opleving lijkt bovendien deels tijdelijk, onder meer door hogere overheidsuitgaven.<\/p>\n<p>Ondertussen begint de consument voorzichtig te worden. De groei van de consumentenbestedingen verliest aan kracht. Hogere prijzen voor brandstof en dagelijkse uitgaven drukken op het budget van huishoudens.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bitcoin-koers-blijft-rond-76-300-dollar-hangen\">Bitcoin koers blijft rond 76.300 dollar hangen<\/h2>\n<p>Omdat de inflatie precies volgens verwachting uitkomt, blijven grote verrassingen uit op de markten. Beleggers zien dit als een bevestiging dat de inflatie weliswaar hoog blijft, maar niet verder oploopt.<\/p>\n<p>Opvallend is dat de Bitcoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/over-cryptocurrency\/wat-is-bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a>) koers nauwelijks beweegt. Uit de grafiek blijkt dat BTC kortstondig schommelde, maar uiteindelijk rond de 76.300 dollar blijft hangen. Dat onderstreept hoe afwachtend de markt momenteel is.<\/p>\n<p>Beleggers lijken eerst duidelijkheid te willen over het rentepad van de Federal Reserve. De rente staat momenteel in een bandbreedte van 3,50 tot 3,75 procent en de <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/fed-houdt-rente-stabiel-terwijl-powells-leiderschap-ten-einde-loopt\/\">verwachting<\/a> is dat deze voorlopig hoog blijft.<\/p>\n<p>Voor crypto betekent dit vaak tegenwind. Hogere rentes maken traditionele beleggingen aantrekkelijker.
