En het wordt meteen een primeur: de film is volledig gemaakt met kunstmatige intelligentie (AI).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bitcoin-killing-satoshi\">Bitcoin: Killing Satoshi<\/h2>\n<p>De film heet \u201cBitcoin: Killing Satoshi\u201d en draait om het grootste mysterie uit de cryptowereld: de onbekende bedenker van Bitcoin. Casey Affleck kruipt in de huid van de Australische computerwetenschapper Craig Wright, die jarenlang publiekelijk claimde de man achter Satoshi te zijn.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pete Davidson is gok- en cryptomogul Calvin Ayre. Die stuurt oorlogscorrespondent Lotte, gespeeld door Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), op Wright af. Ook Isla Fisher heeft een rol.<\/p>\n<p>Wright is volgens het verhaal de echte Satoshi en wordt al jaren het doelwit van aanslagen. Lotte moet uitzoeken wie hem dood wil hebben en waarom. De makers vergelijken het met een David tegen Goliath: onwaarschijnlijke antihelden die de strijd aangaan met overheden, Wall Street en Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) regisseert naar een script van Nick Schenk, de vaste scenarist van Clint Eastwood. De film gaat volgende maand in de verkoop op het filmfestival van Cannes.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-geen-enkele-scene-op-locatie\">Geen enkele sc\u00e8ne op locatie<\/h2>\n<p>De aanpak is wat deze productie zo bijzonder maakt. \u201cBitcoin: Killing Satoshi\u201d wordt gepresenteerd als de eerste volledig AI-gegenereerde speelfilm van studiokwaliteit. De opnames duurden slechts twintig dagen, terwijl een gemiddelde Hollywood-film ruim drie maanden op de set staat.<\/p>\n<p>Alles vond plaats in een omgebouwde autoshowroom in West-Londen, door de crew \u201cthe gray box\u201d gedoopt. De acteurs speelden hun sc\u00e8nes tegen grijze schermen. Alle achtergronden, belichting en locaties werden er naderhand met AI ingetoverd.<\/p>\n<p>Dat scheelt een smak geld. Een traditionele productie zou volgens de makers ongeveer 300 miljoen dollar hebben gekost. Het uiteindelijke budget bleef steken op 70 miljoen dollar, meer dan vier keer zo laag.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-het-mysterie-van-satoshi\">Het mysterie van Satoshi<\/h2>\n<p>Bitcoin is gebouwd om zonder baas te kunnen functioneren. Er is geen gezicht aan verbonden en geen enkele partij heeft de controle. Dat Satoshi nooit is ontmaskerd, is dus eigenlijk een zegen.<\/p>\n<p>Satoshi heeft bovendien meer dan 1 miljoen Bitcoins (goed voor zo\u2019n 66 miljard euro) die in de begindagen van het netwerk zijn gemined. Die voorraad staat\u00a0 al sinds 2010 onaangeroerd in zijn wallets.<\/p>\n<p>Als bekend wordt wie het genie achter Bitcoin is, krijgt de munt opeens een zwakke plek. Plots heeft iemand een adres met ruim 1 miljoen Bitcoins op zijn naam staan, goed voor zo\u2019n 66 miljard euro. Overheden, hackers en criminelen weten dan precies waar ze moeten zijn.
