De spanningen rond Iran en een plotselinge stijging van de olieprijs zorgen deze maand voor onrust op financi\u00eble markten. Olieprijs crasht na uitspraken van Trump<\/h2>\n

De olieprijs van zowel Brent als WTI steeg gisteren kort tot rond de 119 dollar per vat, het hoogste niveau in bijna vier jaar tijd. Dat zorgde voor onrust op financi\u00eble markten, omdat dure energie de wereldeconomie kan afremmen. Gisteravond zakte de olieprijs echter weer scherp na uitspraken<\/a> van Donald Trump.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Toch lijkt Bitcoin zich weinig aan te trekken van die schommelingen. De cryptomunt staat deze maand ongeveer 5,7 procent hoger en beweegt rond de 70.700 dollar. Volgens Paul Howard van handelsbedrijf Wincent<\/a> speelde handel buiten de publieke beurzen een belangrijke rol.<\/p>\n

\u201cDe vraag werd gedreven door enkele grote OTC trades, waarbij beleggers mogelijk voorsorteren op een snel einde van het conflict in Iran. Ook de aankoop van Strategy kan een teken zijn dat het vertrouwen in risicobeleggingen terugkeert\u201d, zegt Howard.<\/p>\n

OTC staat voor over the counter. Dat zijn handelsplekken achter de schermen, waar grote partijen direct met elkaar handelen zonder dat orders zichtbaar zijn op publieke exchanges. Daardoor kunnen grote hoeveelheden Bitcoin worden gekocht of verkocht zonder dat de Bitcoin koers direct sterk beweegt op de open markt.<\/p>\n

Strategy koopt opnieuw duizenden Bitcoin<\/h2>\n

Ook institutionele beleggers lijken weer interesse te krijgen in Bitcoin. De Amerikaanse spot Bitcoin ETF\u2019s zagen<\/a> sinds het begin van de maand ongeveer 735 miljoen dollar aan nieuw kapitaal binnenkomen.<\/p>\n

Volgens Vikram Subburaj, CEO van crypto exchange Giottus<\/a>, is dat een duidelijke trendbreuk. \u201cInstitutionele stromen zijn weer positief voor Bitcoin. Sinds eind februari stroomde ongeveer 1,7 miljard dollar naar spot Bitcoin ETF\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daarnaast blijft het beursgenoteerde bedrijf Strategy Bitcoin verzamelen. Tussen 2 en 8 maart kocht<\/a> het bedrijf nog eens 17.994 BTC. Volgens analist Iliya Kalchev van Nexo staat dat ongeveer gelijk aan vijf weken nieuwe Bitcoinproductie.<\/p>\n

Strategy bezit inmiddels 738.731 BTC. Dat komt neer op ongeveer 3,7 procent van alle Bitcoin die in omloop zijn. Ook grote wallets op de blockchain kopen bij wanneer de koers even daalt. Wallets met meer dan 1.000 BTC vergrootten hun bezit tijdens recente dips met ongeveer 0,3 procent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
