Dat klinkt technisch, maar raakt BESI recht in het hart.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-waarom-een-hogere-chip-besi-pijn-doet\">Waarom een hogere chip BESI pijn doet<\/h2>\n<p>HBM-chips bestaan uit meerdere lagen DRAM die als een toren op elkaar worden gestapeld. Die lagen moeten aan elkaar worden bevestigd met een zogeheten bondingtechnologie. Op dit moment gebruiken chipmakers daarvoor TCB, een oudere methode. BESI zet vol in op de opvolger: hybrid bonding, een preciezere techniek waar het bedrijf marktleider in is.<\/p>\n<p>Als JEDEC de maximale hoogte van HBM-chips oprekt, passen er meer DRAM-lagen in een toren zonder dat de bondingtechnologie hoeft te veranderen. Chipmakers kunnen dan langer doorwerken met TCB en hebben minder haast om over te stappen op hybrid bonding. Voor BESI betekent dat mogelijk een latere en tragere adoptie van precies de technologie waar het bedrijf zijn toekomst op heeft gebouwd.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-analist-neemt-berichtgeving-heel-serieus\">Analist neemt berichtgeving \u201cheel serieus\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Michael Roeg, analist bij Degroof Petercam, noemt de ontwikkeling zorgwekkend. Volgens hem heeft JEDEC zo\u2019n twee jaar geleden de hoogtestandaard ook al opgerekt, waardoor er destijds minder druk lag op geheugenmakers om van TCB naar hybrid bonding over te stappen.<\/p>\n<p>Als dat scenario zich herhaalt, kan het de verwachte omzetgroei van BESI verder naar achteren schuiven. Het bedrijf geldt als een van de grootste profiteurs van de wereldwijde AI-hausse, juist omdat datacenters steeds meer geavanceerde HBM-chips nodig hebben.
