Zowel goud als zilver kregen onverwacht zware klappen te verwerken, precies nadat nieuwe recordniveaus waren bereikt.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-recordrally-eindigt-abrupt-voor-goud-en-zilver\">Recordrally eindigt abrupt voor goud en zilver<\/h2>\n<p>Goud was de afgelopen maanden ongekend populair. Ongeveer een jaar geleden lag de goudprijs nog rond de 2.800 dollar. Afgelopen donderdag <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/goud-breekt-door-5-100-dollar-zilver-stijgt-13-daarna-volgt-historische-crash\/\">piekte de koers<\/a> op bijna 5.600 dollar, een nieuw historisch hoogtepunt.<\/p>\n<p>Ook zilver maakte een uitzonderlijke rally door. Twaalf maanden geleden stond de zilverprijs rond de 32 dollar. Deze week werd nog een record aangetikt van bijna 117 dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Die euforie sloeg vrijdag abrupt om. De goudprijs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ad.nl\/economie\/grootste-daling-van-goud-en-zilverprijs-in-jaren-vertrouwen-in-dollar-herstelt-door-nieuwe-fed-kandidaat-van-trump~a94f7e9f\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">daalde<\/a> in korte tijd met ongeveer tien procent. Zilver werd nog veel harder geraakt en verloor zo\u2019n dertig procent van zijn waarde. Zulke scherpe dalingen zijn zeldzaam en zijn al jaren niet meer voorgekomen bij edelmetalen.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Winstnemingen, dollarherstel en Fed-onrust<\/h2>\n<p>De plotselinge correctie lijkt het gevolg van meerdere samenlopende factoren. Veel beleggers die al langer in goud en zilver zaten, besloten hun winsten veilig te stellen. Na zulke extreme stijgingen ligt winstneming voor de hand.<\/p>\n<p>Tegelijkertijd trok de Amerikaanse dollar weer aan. Een sterkere dollar maakt goud en zilver duurder voor buitenlandse beleggers, wat de vraag onder druk zet.<\/p>\n<p>Daarbovenop kwam het nieuws dat <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/waarom-fed-kandidaat-kevin-warsh-slecht-nieuws-is-voor-bitcoin\/\">Kevin Warsh<\/a> mogelijk de nieuwe voorzitter wordt van de Federal Reserve. Beleggers rekenen onder zijn leiding op een strakker monetair beleid. Dat vooruitzicht is doorgaans ongunstig voor goud en zilver, die vooral profiteren van lage rentes en ruim beleid van de centrale bank.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Angst en geopolitiek dreven de eerdere stijging<\/h2>\n<p>De sterke opmars van edelmetalen werd de afgelopen periode vooral gevoed door onzekerheid en angst op het wereldtoneel. Uitspraken en acties van Donald Trump zorgden opnieuw voor geopolitieke onrust. Zo waarschuwde hij Iran openlijk en kondigde hij handelstarieven aan voor landen die olie verhandelen met Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>Ook de oorlog in Oekra\u00efne en oplopende spanningen rond Groenland speelden mee. Tegelijkertijd verloor de Amerikaanse dollar aan kracht, wat goud en zilver extra aantrekkelijk maakte.<\/p>\n<p>In onzekere tijden zoeken beleggers traditioneel hun toevlucht tot schaarse activa. Goud en zilver worden gezien als waardevast in periodes van economische stress, inflatie en geopolitieke instabiliteit.
