De traditionele financi\u00eble sector kijkt steeds nadrukkelijker naar crypto. Tijdens een recente presentatie gaf topbank Goldman Sachs aan ontwikkelingen zoals stablecoins, tokenisatie en voorspellingsmarkten nauwlettend te volgen. Wat betekent dat voor de toekomst van de sector?<\/p>\n

Goldman Sachs verdiept zich in crypto en tokenisatie<\/h2>\n

Tijdens de toelichting<\/a> op de kwartaalcijfers zei CEO David Solomon dat Goldman Sachs \u201cveel tijd besteedt\u201d aan het onderzoeken van crypto en voorspellingsmarkten. De bank richt zich vooral op tokenisatie en stablecoins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Volgens Solomon sprak hij recent nog met twee grote platforms voor voorspellingsmarkten. Die gesprekken maken deel uit van een breder onderzoek naar hoe blockchain<\/a> past binnen de bestaande dienstverlening van Goldman Sachs.<\/p>\n

Binnen de bank zijn gespecialiseerde teams bezig met het analyseren van de mogelijkheden rondom stablecoins en tokenisatie. Ze rapporteren direct aan de top, wat onderstreept hoe serieus het onderwerp wordt genomen.<\/p>\n

Solomon benadrukt dat het om langetermijntrends gaat, maar voegt toe dat de bank voorzichtig blijft. Alleen markten met duidelijke regelgeving, zoals onder toezicht van de Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC<\/a>), komen in beeld. Risicovolle of ongereguleerde projecten worden uitgesloten.<\/p>\n

Van een koerswijziging is nog geen sprake. Wel praat Goldman Sachs actief mee over regelgeving, zoals de Clarity Act. Dat wetsvoorstel zorgt momenteel voor spanningen tussen banken en cryptobedrijven.<\/p>\n

Langzame adoptie, maar duidelijke signalen<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hoewel de interesse groeit, tempert Solomon de verwachtingen over een snelle doorbraak. \u201cDe adoptie van deze technologie\u00ebn verloopt trager dan velen denken\u201d, aldus de CEO. Toch ziet Goldman Sachs duidelijke signalen dat stablecoins en tokenisatie op termijn een vaste plek krijgen in de financi\u00eble wereld.<\/p>\n

De ontwikkeling toont aan dat crypto en blockchain steeds meer verankerd raken binnen de traditionele financi\u00eble sector. Wat ooit vooral beloften waren vanuit de cryptowereld, lijkt nu langzaam maar zeker werkelijkheid te worden.<\/p>\n

Wall Street bouwt aan crypto-infrastructuur<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Goldman Sachs staat niet alleen. Ook andere grootbanken investeren in crypto-initiatieven. Zo stelde<\/a> Bank of America eind vorig jaar dat blockchain de komende jaren onmisbaar wordt binnen het financi\u00eble systeem, vooral via de tokenisatie van activa zoals aandelen en obligaties.<\/p>\n

Ook Morgan Stanley beweegt zich die kant op. De bank diende<\/a> bij toezichthouder SEC een aanvraag in voor eigen spot exchange-traded funds (ETF\u2019s<\/a>) voor Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>) en Solana (SOL<\/a>). Daarmee wil het institutionele beleggers directe blootstelling bieden aan deze cryptovaluta.<\/p>\n

Daarnaast werkt Morgan Stanley aan een digitale wallet voor transacties met cryptovaluta en getokeniseerde activa. De lancering daarvan staat gepland voor later dit jaar.<\/p>\n

Europese banken volgen het voorbeeld<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ook in Europa stappen banken in. Zo kunnen klanten van de Belgische KBC Group sinds februari gereguleerd<\/a> Bitcoin (BTC) en Ethereum (ETH<\/a>) kopen via het Bolero-platform.<\/p>\n

In Duitsland haalde<\/a> DZ Bank als eerste grote bank een MiCAR-vergunning binnen. Daarmee kunnen honderden lokale banken via het platform \u2018meinKrypto\u2019 binnenkort cryptodiensten aanbieden binnen hun bestaande bankapps.<\/p>\n

Europese banken sluiten zich zo aan bij de wereldwijde crypto-adoptie en bouwen mee aan een nieuwe financi\u00eble infrastructuur.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
