De Bitcoin koers explodeerde het afgelopen jaar dankzij een tsunami aan dollars in spot-ETF\u2019s. Maar wie lacht er het hardst? BlackRock, natuurlijk. Ze cashen flink op deze hype.<\/p>\n

BlackRock genereert naar schatting een slordige 260 miljoen dollar per jaar aan omzet met hun Bitcoin (BTC) en Ethereum (ETH) fondsen. Die ETF’s zijn veranderd in een absolute goudmijn voor de grootste vermogensbeheerder ter wereld. Het is belachelijk hoe snel dit is gegaan.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin ETF spuugt meer winst uit dan het S&P 500-fonds<\/h2>\n

Het gros van de inkomsten komt van de iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), zo’n 218 miljoen dollar per jaar. ETHA, het Ethereum-fonds, draagt nog eens 42 miljoen dollar bij. Opmerkelijk: IBIT is nu winstgevender dan BlackRock’s eigen S&P 500-fonds IVV. Simpel: de beheervergoeding is veel hoger, 0,25 procent tegenover een schamele 0,03 procent voor IVV. Slim gespeeld, BlackRock.<\/p>\n

Volgens Leon Waidmann van de Onchain Foundation bewijzen deze cijfers dat crypto geen randverschijnsel meer is. “De grootste vermogensbeheerder ter wereld toont aan dat crypto keiharde business is. Dit is geen experiment meer.” Waidmann vergelijkt het met de opkomst van Amazon. Een valide punt.<\/p>\n

Spot-ETF’s gieten miljarden in de crypto-arena<\/h2>\n

De injectie van kapitaal heeft de cryptomarkt een gigantische boost gegeven. De totale instroom in Bitcoin ETF’s bedraagt inmiddels een duizelingwekkende 57,3 miljard dollar, volgens Farside data. Een flink deel daarvan is “nieuw geld” van beleggers die eerst buiten de boot vielen. Zeker bedrijven vonden het beheer van crypto-assets te ingewikkeld en risicovol. Spot-ETF’s bieden nu een makkelijke, gereguleerde route. Handig, of juist niet?<\/p>\n

Het resultaat? Toen de ETF’s in januari werden gelanceerd, stond BTC nog rond de 43.000 dollar. Anderhalf jaar later bereikte de Bitcoin koers een nieuwe all-time high van bijna 124.500 dollar. Toeval? Dacht het niet.<\/p>\n

IBIT breekt records, Ethereum ETF groeit ook als kool<\/h2>\n

De iShares Bitcoin Trust staat nu in de top 25 van grootste ETF’s ter wereld. In slechts 374 dagen groeide het fonds naar een beheerd vermogen van 80 miljard dollar<\/a>. Hiermee is het de snelst groeiende ETF ooit. Ter vergelijking: BlackRock’s IEFA-fonds had hier ruim vijf jaar voor nodig.<\/p>\n

Ook het Ethereum-fonds ETHA presenteert indrukwekkende cijfers. Het bereikte een beheerd vermogen van 10 miljard dollar<\/a> in slechts 251 dagen. Daarmee is ETHA de derde snelst groeiende ETF ooit die deze mijlpaal bereikte.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
