In zijn ogen zit de inflatie muurvast rond de 3 procent, en dat maakt verdere renteverlagingen riskant. Hij sluit zelfs een opleving niet uit. Maar de realiteit is dat de huidige verlaging vooral dient om een recessie te voorkomen, niet om de economie verder aan te jagen.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Markt rekent op meer<\/h2>\n<p>De financi\u00eble markten lijken ondertussen in een parallel universum te leven. Ze gokken op nog minstens twee renteverlagingen dit jaar, en sommige &#8216;analisten&#8217; zien er zelfs vijf aankomen. Een stijging van Bitcoin na de eerste verlaging bevestigt het optimisme, maar de vraag is of deze euforie terecht is.<\/p>\n<p>De renteverlaging van 25 basispunten vorige week leidde een dag later tot een opleving in crypto. De Bitcoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/newsbit.nl\/over-cryptocurrency\/wat-is-bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a>) koers tikte daarbij ruim 117.500 dollar aan, de hoogste stand in weken.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stablecoins geen grote dreiging<\/h2>\n<p>Dimon bagatelliseert de dreiging van stablecoins. Hij ziet ze niet als een serieuze concurrent voor traditionele banken, al erkent hij dat er toezicht nodig is. Vooral in landen met een zwakke munt of waar men dollars buiten het systeem wil houden, kunnen ze populair worden. <\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan zelf speelt ook met het idee van een eigen token, maar Dimon ziet geen noodzaak voor stablecoins tussen centrale banken. Banken lobbyen ondertussen voor strengere regels, omdat ze vrezen dat stablecoins met rente-uitkeringen het spaarsysteem kunnen ondermijnen.
